Idaho Lifelong Learning Association 2007 Conference Call for Papers

The 2007 ILLA Annual Conference is Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, October 21, 22, 23, at the Sun Valley Lodge and Inn.

Proposals do not have to be directly related to the Conference Theme. Presentations related to any topic associated with Lifelong Learning and the work we do in adult education and training and development are encouraged and welcomed. We are requesting proposals that fall into one or more of the following presentation formats.

1. Presentation. Presentations are delivered from the front of the room in a classroom format. Overhead projectors are provided. Projection units are available in some, but not all, rooms. Presenters are expected to provide a hand-out for participants and field questions during the last five minutes. Presentations are 50 and 90 minutes in length.

2. Paper Sessions. These sessions are for reporting research results or analyzing issues of policy and practice. Presenters are expected to provide copies of papers to participants. Three papers are presented in a 60-minute session. Each presenter is allotted 15 to 18 minutes. A facilitator introduces each presenter. Overhead projectors are available but there is not enough time to set up a computer.

3. Roundtables. Individual presenters are assigned tables in a large meeting room. The presentations last about 10 minutes but are presented to five different groups of people in a one-hour time frame. Attendees move from presentation to presentation during the hour. Best Practices and other ideas that work are shared quickly with small groups of people.

4. Workshops. Workshops are designed to engage participants in some type of hands-on or group experience. Workshops are 90 minutes and we are only planning a limited number. A workshop should energize and motivate the participants in meaningful ways.

Based upon number of requests, your format request may need to be adjusted to meet time and space demands
